pokeyjoe Posted December 8, 2014 #1 Share Posted December 8, 2014 Help! I just tried to book a shore excursion through Carnival but it was sold out online. Will Carnival offer more of this excursion for their "on board" bookings? I'm undecided if I want to book something else or do I take a chance and wait? travler27 Posted December 8, 2014 #2 Share Posted December 8, 2014 It's been my experience that when a shore excursion is "sold out" just keep checking and it will usually open up somewhere down the road.
rooster1961 Posted December 8, 2014 #3 Share Posted December 8, 2014 why not try and see if you can book directly with the tour operator. Usually will be a lot less than what the ship charges
pokeyjoe Posted December 8, 2014 Author #4 Share Posted December 8, 2014 why not try and see if you can book directly with the tour operator. Usually will be a lot less than what the ship charges Yeah, that was my Plan B but when I went to their website, they don't offer the excursion during the time we are in port. And then the panic started to set in....:)
twinmom38 Posted December 8, 2014 #5 Share Posted December 8, 2014 perhaps check with shoretips.com ? or another agent.. I have used them in many places, and have been very happy.
sunlite Posted December 8, 2014 #6 Share Posted December 8, 2014 The ones i want will not let you book directly with them if you are on a cruise due to contracts but they are sold out on the ship. elainmir Posted December 9, 2014 #7 Share Posted December 9, 2014 We waited forever for excursions to open up for our Jamaica port and when they did the thing my kids wanted to do wasn't listed..someone on here said to wait and it could open up later and it did..last month! So I got the one we wanted...wait and see what happens...if nothing opens a month before you go start looking at private excursions...
Relayer Posted December 9, 2014 #8 Share Posted December 9, 2014 We haven't booked through CCL in years. We have always found exactly what we wanted to do at desitnation port or on-line. Substantially less and often more excursion. I am sure there may be exceptions. Sometimes you can find great things to do that the cruise lines don't offer at all.
