our group of 8 will be P.V. cabo and Matz for our 3 ports need ideas for excursions any private van tours that anyone has used and liked ????

thanks clint

Depending on what you like to do or see, I suggest checking all the tour information you can find, write down the things that interest you, then find a van driver at the ports and make a deal with him. Some have basic city tours they will do but will customize the tour to cater to your desires.

Cabo -- The glass bottom boat to lands end is good, and can be done for around 7 to 10 dollars per person. They will drop you off at Lovers beach if you want, and will return to pick you up. They will also take you to Medano beach where all the bars and restaurants are. You will need to get a land taxi, water taxi, or walk back to the marina.

Vans and taxis are also available near the dock to take you outside the city.

Mazatlan -- They have lots of pulmonia taxis that will take 4 people and will give you a good look at the city for a good price. The mercado is worth seeing as it is where a lot of the locals do their shopping. The old church is a couple of blocks from there, also.

You can also take a water taxi to Stone Island for about 3 dollars per person (round trip). It is pretty primitive, but the water is shallow and very little surge. The bars and restaurants are mostly palm frond roofs and the food is good, drinks are cheap, and they have ATV's, horses, etc to rent.

Puerto Vallarta -- Vans are available both inside and outside the marina if you want a tour. We had a van take us to Pitillal (small town about three miles above WalMart) and saw a neat show at the Tequila factory there, then went through PV to Mismaloya beach and out through the jungle a little. Interesting trip.

They also have buses to take you downtown for a little over 50 cents US (they don't take US coins) The malecon is a pleasant walk with lots of sculptures, statues, artists, and shops

This should give you some ideas, and you can find much more by checking (Google) the things that are available at any of the ports.
