cunardaddict Posted December 18, 2014 #26 Share Posted December 18, 2014 How should I have been aware? If I book a package (Ship and flight) it was my expectation that they would include transfer. I really do think they should know if they are included! In fact, I think they were included - but the Purser's Office couldn't be bothered to look it up. I do think Cunard should only accept passengers who read and clearly understood their travel documents. If in doubt ask your TA and don't blame the operator for own ignorance. lannp Posted December 18, 2014 #28 Share Posted December 18, 2014 I am glad you arrived home safely. Bookings are done by shore-side so you can't expect crew on board to know about "your" arrangements. The questions should have been asked at the tour Desk not the Pursers' Desk but the Pursers' Desk could have made the suggestion you talk to the Tour Desk but with the long line-ups and the questions asked I'm sure at times their PR skills are lacking. balf Posted December 18, 2014 #29 Share Posted December 18, 2014 It would be helpful to know if the OP received a daily programme, where the information required would be found. How is it possible to book a cruise and not know if the flight home was included? David.

Rare rafinmd Posted December 18, 2014 #32 Share Posted December 18, 2014 What's up with Cunard? I think we may have been on the same cruise (November 4-6). I think getting disembarkation information to the passenger is the cabin steward's responsibility. In my lowly Britannia cabin the information arrived without a hitch. What's Cunard doing, assigning the incompetent stewards to QG cabins, perhaps on the theory that they have fewer cabins to mess up on? Roy

Rare BlueRiband Posted December 18, 2014 #40 Share Posted December 18, 2014 The Concierge, had he/she been asked, would also have helped the OP. For a Q3 this would go to the top of the list for attention. How can somebody, who achieved a level of personal success to afford a Q3, not have some degree of sophistication to sort this out with their TA or Cunard in advance or inquire at the tour desk or concierge once board? cunardaddict Posted December 18, 2014 #41 Share Posted December 18, 2014 (edited) Well, BlueRiband, I met all sorts of filks in my life. And I wondered constantly of how they got where they were. Lady49Monet Posted December 18, 2014 #44 Share Posted December 18, 2014 All, We recently took our first ever trip on a cruise ship, sailing Southampton to Hamburg. We received no information other than a receipt, but we worked out where to go, and got to our bunk, a Q3 cabin, which was nice. However, when we arrived in Hamburg, we had to take a flight home. We were given the flight times, but that was it. I approached, therefore, the Purser's office, to ask where the Airport was, and was simply told "I don't know, Ive never been to Hamburg". So I asked if there were transfers included in our trip (the receipt didn't make this clear at all); we paid the 'Cunard' fare. Again, I was simply told "I don't know, but I do know there's a strike on the public transport system, so good luck". I had enough, left the ship, walked to the train station, where, contrary to what we had been told, there were trains running. I must say, I think it is very poor that Cunard don't tell give people information about getting to the airport at the ports they visit. Was this, perhaps, a one off, or am I expecting too much that they render assistance about the trip home. I should add, I have complained to Cunard. They acknowledged receipt, said they would respond in 28 days, but needless to say, that deadline has come and gone over a week ago, without response. Well I think you should had a better service. If the flight ticket was included in the price, transfer to the airport should have been offered even if you had to pay more. Either way some simple advice on how to get there should also have been given. Nobody shows you to your stateroom, they do give you directions lifts etc has been my experience, but no personal escort.
