Irena Stokmane Posted August 24, 2005 #1 Share Posted August 24, 2005 Hi, I have got a single entry visa for my cruise to Bahamas, and now I'm wondering if there is any immigration control also in CocoCay, or not really, as this is a private island? Otherwise, would I be allowed on shore both at Nassau and CocoCay, as my visa is for one jouney? Thanks for any info!
sportsterjohn Posted August 24, 2005 #2 Share Posted August 24, 2005 CoCo cay is a private island owned by RCCL. Don't worry about having any additional paperwork. All you need is your seapass.
KINGBOBOFTHENORTH Posted August 25, 2005 #3 Share Posted August 25, 2005 Although a private island, it is part of the Bahamas. However, there are no Customs/Immigration formalities there. At Nassau there are no "visible" Customs/Immigration formalities either. You complete and turn in to Royal Caribbean a Bahamas "landing" card when you first check-in for your cruise at embarkation. I guess RCI then turns those over to Bahamas Immigration and the ship is quickly cleared. Your passport is not checked when you get off in Nassau. So you shouldn't have a problem. And technically whether you go to Nassau first or Coco Cay first, you're not leaving the Bahamas when you go to the other stop. So you're only entering the Bahamas once and a single entry Visa should be sufficient.
