NeurosurgeryNP Posted January 14, 2015 #27 Share Posted January 14, 2015 (edited) New to NCL (we've done Princess seven times, Disney, RC, and Carnival once). How much for a day pass to use the spa - hot tubs, loungers, etc? Also, I want to get a scooter for my mother who is traveling with me. We are in a mid ship balcony. Will it fit in the cabin with room to move around it? Edited January 14, 2015 by NeurosurgeryNP

NeurosurgeryNP Posted January 14, 2015 #29 Share Posted January 14, 2015 Sounds like you need a handicap room. It's probably too late to change rooms anyways. And at $255 for the week for the scooter - my mom will make do - it will be very slow - but she will be OK she says.

I'm sure if there is one they will be happy to give it to you or move someone who is in a handicap room that doesn't need it and move them to a nicer cabin. The handicap cabins are very nice, wide and big. I doubt the scooter will fit in a regular room, but sure that if it doesn't fit you won't be able to leave it in the hallway. It really doesn't hurt to call and ask. Good luck.
LLWS_Uncle_Rick Posted January 15, 2015 #31 Share Posted January 15, 2015 "You can drop off your carry on items in your stateroom upon embarking." Never heard of this before. We have always been barred from even entering the hallway on other ships.
m-dfromjersey Posted January 15, 2015 #32 Share Posted January 15, 2015 "You can drop off your carry on items in your stateroom upon embarking." Never heard of this before. We have always been barred from even entering the hallway on other ships. I was surprised by this as well. The cabin attendants will change the linen on the bed as soon as possible, then place a plastic runner across the bed where you can place your luggage. But don't be alarmed that the rest of the cabin still shows signs of the previous occupant; when my wife and I embarked BA on 12/28, we were able to get into our cabin (10198, if you're keeping score), but there was remnants of old room decorations, a used Kleenex on the couch and residue from plates/glasses on the countertop. By the time we finished lunch at the Garden Cafe and explored 678 Ocean Place a bit, the PA came through that the cabins were now accessible and, on checking the cabin, all of the issues listed above were resolved.
