Fresh off the Celebrity Eclipse & Silhouette, we are all set to go on this cruise. Any FOD joining us?

 

We are Peter & Geert-Jan, 41 and 36, from Amsterdam, the Netherlands. We are booked on this cruise and the preceding cruise, departing September 21st.

We are Richard & Danny, and will be on this cruise as well. This will be our first Celebrity cruise and we feel like it will be a great trip and intinerary. Look forward to seeing you on board :)

Hi Richard and Danny. I'm sure you will love Celebrity. This will be our 10th cruise on Celebrity Solstice class ships, first time on Reflection though. We have been to most of the ports, but they are gorgeous. We should discuss over drinks at the Martini Bar...:-) only 5 more months!

We look forward to meeting you at the Martini bar. :) We just finalized an excursion for Kusadasi (Ephesus private tour) this morning and are waiting for confirmation for Naples (Amalfi coast). We would appreciate any recommendations you may have for any of the ports since you have seen them. We are not planning to book any excursions for Messina or Mykonos because we are just going to go out on our own. We still have to decide on the remaining 3 ports, but we have almost decided to do Rhodes on our own as well. We have booked private tours just for the two of us through toursbylocals.com which can accommodate more people. If you are interested, we can send you more detailed information.

 

We have only been to Naples and Rome for this itinerary so everything else is new for us. The ship looks amazing and we are excited to try something different.

Sorry for the delay in our reply. We were holidaying in Greece, visiting Mykonos, Delos and Paros. Wonderful, cant wait to visit again.

 

I don't think well prebook any tours. We may look into a tour in Kusadasi, since the town itself is pretty small and a tourist trap, lots of people trying to sell, fairly aggressively. Actually, Sicily will be a first for us. Santorini is gorgeous, however, when there are several cruise ships in, it tends to get overcrowded. If you want to be sure of a timely tender to shore, this is where you may consider booking a tour offered by Celebrity. That way you get separate prioritized tenders. We once waited over 3 hours for a tender!

 

Athens is easy enough to explore on your own. Usually tours are 50 + euros while you can get a ticket for the subway for 4 euros taking you to Plaka in 15 minutes. Very easy. If it's your first time, Akropolis is a must, but also very easy to arrange on your own.

 

We are actually disembarking a day early in Naples. But on the previous cruise we also have a day in Naples and the Amalfi coast excursion sounds very tempting.

 

You will love the ships. All the information you need is easy enough to to find, but should you have any specific questions, let us know.

Thanks for the info. We will have to re-evaluate whether we keep the Santorini trip we already booked or not. We are supposed to meet our pick up person at the top of cable cars between 9:15-9:20am. It shows we arrive at 7am but I know sometimes they don't immediately begin disembarking. Seems like 2 hours would be enough to get tendered over and up the hill (potentially walking if cable cars are backed up).
