Tampa Hotels?

We're looking for a hotel near the Port of Tampa for about $150 or less per night. Any ideas?

When do you cruise? Prices vary with the tourist season - you can get a great deal in August; you can pay way more than $150 in Jan/Feb?

 

Rocky Point area hotels (Chase Suites, etc.) are popular with cruisers - nice area, shopping and dining options nearby, and most offer free airport and port shuttle packages.

 

The Westshore area near the TPA airport is also popular - taxi to the port (if a shuttle is not offered) will run about $25+tip. Ybor City offers some hotels plus great dining, nightlife and shopping.

 

I would avoid hotels in the stadium area, unless you want to visit lots of strip clubs.:o

I knew someone would have some insights. I appreciate the help. I want the Sheraton Riverwalk, but it's seems bit pricey- but maybe I can find a deal online.
