brew99 Posted December 30, 2014 #1 Share Posted December 30, 2014 Hi, quick question on the cabin we have selected on the Independence. We are in cabin 6664 (D1) for March 14th Eastern Caribbean sailing. As I am checking out the deck plans, I notice that we might be over top of the kitchen area on deck 5 for the King Lear Dining room (or that is my assumption). Does anyone know if cabins toward the aft past the hump have any noise issues from deck 5 below? Thx!
Ocean Boy Posted December 30, 2014 #2 Share Posted December 30, 2014 You may be over the dining room but I have never heard anyone on these boards complain about noise in that area. If you are really concerned you could try to move to deck 7 where you would have cabins above and below you.
brew99 Posted December 31, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted December 31, 2014 Thanks for the feedback. I spent some time searching through the site and in particular the cabin reviews and did not see any concerns in any posts. Based on the deck plans it looks like these rooms would not be directly over the dining room but over the kitchen facilities so my guess is they have it well engineered. sapphireblue Posted December 31, 2014 #5 Share Posted December 31, 2014 We stayed in that cabin on the Independence in March 2013 and loved it. We heard no noises at all. We liked the cabin so much we booked it again for the following year. Enjoy the cabin! Great location!!!
Cruise_Anne Posted December 31, 2014 #6 Share Posted December 31, 2014 We were in Cabin 6640 on the hump - not much noise at all considering the location! Had friends in Cabin 6658 that said the same. Hope that helps!:D
Ocean Boy Posted December 31, 2014 #7 Share Posted December 31, 2014 I think that noise tends to be more of an issue from what is located above you than under you anyway. With certain venues above you, like the pool deck, chairs being dragged on the floor can cause noise below. Ambient noise from venues below you is not as likely to cause problems.
