Dolphin Jet Boat tour in Juneau?

I'm looking at this tour company for our cruise stop in august. Has anyone used them? They have a 2 hour whale watching tour with an included stop at mendenhall glacier for $130 adult and $110 kids.

 

 

Also for this port - any idea whether a morning or afternoon trip would be better for more whales or weather wise?

 

I'm traveling alone with my 9 year old so want to pick a good excursion.

They have been around for awhile and I have not heard any complaints. I would compare whale watching times with other companies. It is impossible to predict if whales are better in the afternoon or morning. Pick whichever works with your schedule. Weather is unpredictable as well. Your 9 year old should enjoy the excursion.

Thanks for responding. Based on your reply and the few trip advisor reviews, I booked the whale watching/glacier combo for a morning time. I figure that will give us time to explore the town after our tour.
