Aloha Me Posted August 26, 2005 #1 Share Posted August 26, 2005 Anticpated buying tickets Detroit to Miami now for July, 2006 at what seems reasonable considering fuel prices going out of this world...but wondering about the odds here. Are prices going to go down while they are fighting this strike or up when its over and they have to make some money back...on us! Comments? whm Posted August 26, 2005 #3 Share Posted August 26, 2005 The strike has no bearing on fuel prices or costs. If the prices do go up as a result of fuel costs, it's a safe bet that all of the carriers will raise fares by the same amount. No airline will do it by themselves. hdawson Posted August 27, 2005 #4 Share Posted August 27, 2005 Folks, long term the legacy airlines have to increase revenue to at least match their cost. That was a fact long before $50 oil. Now oil is $67. Many airlines are paying 60% more for fuel this year than last.
