Clarea Posted January 5, 2015 #2 Share Posted January 5, 2015 Orlando airport is about 45 minutes from the port. I suggest you consider staying in the Cocoa Beach area. Doing a one-way car rental is convenient and not that expensive, plus it give you flexibility. There are several car rental agencies in the Cocoa Beach area that provide free shuttle service to the cruise terminal.
S.A.M.J.R. Posted January 5, 2015 #3 Share Posted January 5, 2015 I second looking into two one way car rentals. That's what we did back in June, and the total was <$100 (we had a car for two days before the cruise and one day after). There were 5 of us, so that was the cost of 1 shuttle trip. Also, if you haven't booked flights yet, take a look and see if Melbourne might work for you, especially on departure. It's a small airport, but you won't have to deal the crowds like you would at MCO (Orlando).
April-in-NC Posted January 5, 2015 #4 Share Posted January 5, 2015 If you choose to stay in the Orlando area we were happy with the Coco Beach Shuttle for airport transfers. The time we used them they offered a small CC discount if you mentioned it during booking.
cruiseaddict5279 Posted January 5, 2015 #5 Share Posted January 5, 2015 I think you would enjoy Radisson Resort at the Port. It is a really nice hotel, with a really nice pool. When you go down there, make sure to try out Kelseys Restaurant, which is next to the Radisson. Oh my god, their food is incredible IMO(and my families. =-) )
