Is August a good month....

Hi there,

We are looking to plan a holiday for either August or October this year. We are fairly limited with dates based on other family commitments. The trip would just be for 2 adults.

 

We have seen an RCL cruise from Shanghai to Japan round trip, (itinerary below) during late August. We are concerned however if this is a good time to travel these waters and visit these cities. Is the weather going to be bad? Very wet? Very hot? Just trying to do our research before committing.

Thanks for your suggestion. I have looked at a number of individual weather reviews but these tend to be about the citys rather than the overall environment and conditions for a cruise in this area in August.

 

I am concerned that it may for instance be typhoon season and if so whether that would impact a cruise of this type. Also whilst some guides suggest that it will be hot and humid I am after someone with experience who amy be able to give a more practical guide than a straight average temperature.

 

In the past CC with its array of experts has normally come up trumps!

We visited Japan during the last two weeks of June a few years ago. The weather was miserably hot and humid with frequent showers. Based only on this experience alone I would expect August to be worse. Go in October!

2014 July and August there were a couple hurricane in Japan.

Will miss some ports if that happens. It is their rainy season.

We did Vantage China in September and it was the perfect time of the year for China.

I would probably go with October over August, unless your cruise started in late August.

As it happens we changed plans to go in October half term.

 

We are now going from Beijing (Tianjin) having a few days in Beijing from 23rd to 27th October then cruise to Nagasaki and Busan, 5 nights in the Quantum of the seas. Finally booked today. Yay!
