diesteldorf Posted January 12, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 12, 2015 Just had a quick question. I am leaving for a 5 day cruise on Feb 2nd. I am definitely not a big spender on board, but typically always get the Unlimited Soda Program. I've got a $25 Ebay Credit that expires in 3 weeks and I am thinking about getting a $25 Carnival Digital Gift through this link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Carnival-Cruise-Lines-Gift-Card-Email-Delivery-/261616167327?pt=US_Deal_Vouchers&var=&hash=item3ce989e99f I know that the Unlimited Soda Program is more expensive, but has anyone had any experience applying physical or (in this case) electronic gift cards to your sail and sign account? I have done both by going to a self service kiosk and putting the card number (and PIN if there is one) in the proper location to credit your S&S account. I have never had an issue, but others have reported when they had problems at the kiosk they simply went to Guest Services. I always check my gift cards just before we go to the ship to make sure the balance they should have on them is what they actually show. You can check your card balance at https://www.carnivalgiftcards.com Have a great cruise!
near the beach Posted January 12, 2015 #3 Share Posted January 12, 2015 If you want to use your $25 digital card in advance you can purchase $25 worth of cruise bar credit. That credit could be use to pay part of the bottomless bubbles sticker. We always get the plastic card and carry that with us on the ship. Always write down the card number if you have a plastic card. That way if you lose the actual card you can still use the number when you make purchases or payments on line. WAHMto5 Posted January 12, 2015 #4 Share Posted January 12, 2015 I have used gift cards for our last three cruises and have never had a problem. I normally put so much on the first day and add them as needed through the week right at guest services.
mrstriceasnice Posted January 12, 2015 #5 Share Posted January 12, 2015 I'm glad to hear it is easy. We have several gift cards that we have received as wedding gifts for our upcoming wedding and cruise that I want to use to pay for our wedding pictures. Thank you all for the answers! diesteldorf Posted February 8, 2015 Author #7 Share Posted February 8, 2015 Just to update: I had a great cruise and it was easy to get these codes applied to my account when I went to the pursor's desk.

Congrats on your winnings. I won 750 on a ship when my daughter was with me. Turns out she over spent on her S&S and there went most of my winnings. Lol. :) But we sure had fun! Would have loved to book another cruise with it.
Rare mitsugirly Posted February 8, 2015 #10 Share Posted February 8, 2015 Our local grocery store sells Carnival gift cards...I assume this is the same thing? I was thinking about purchasing quite a few of them because it gives you fuel perks and they rack up quickly. So I just buy the cards, so the the customer service desk and have them applied to my room charges? Can you do this at check in instead of giving them a cc for onboard expenses? They also work for your daily service charges correct? I had thought about purchasing enough to actually pay for the cruise I was about to book as well. How would this work? Do I just book the cruise and when they ask for payment I tell them the numbers of all the gift cards? One last thing...if I was to use my cc (to earn points on it for cash back) to pay for my on board account, then when I get home can I use this gift card as a form of payment on that cc? Or would that not work because you have to use the cards only while on the ship? Thanks for the information. Trying to plan my strategy. :D
