cwb34 Posted January 12, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 12, 2015 A little background for my question: Went on a cruise out of Galveston a few months ago, and got there about 12 noon. The lines outside - just to get into the terminal - were very long and we were unaware until we got almost to the door that there was a special door for "priority" passengers to skip that line completely and just walk into the terminal. There were no posted signs and no announcements being made. Does anyone know the procedure for priority passengers and the outside line at the Fort Lauderdale cruise terminal? We usually get to the terminal early to avoid lines, but you just never know! Thanks in advance!
CaliCash Posted January 12, 2015 #2 Share Posted January 12, 2015 I would like to know this as well. Going with a family of 11 (4 generations) and we all purchased FTTF. Trying to avoid those long lines.
crusinfamof4 Posted January 12, 2015 #3 Share Posted January 12, 2015 We sailed on the Freedom summer 2013. There is a special entrance door for FTTF, priority, platinum, things like that. Shouldn't be hard to miss. It was our first time at that port and found it quick.

The lines outside - just to get into the terminal - were very long a! Sounds like something happened IN the terminal to create that mess. Normally a cruise week does not happen this way. Once cruise out of FLL the terminals were down and did not go online until 11:30 they only allowed so many people into the terminal-- the rest needed to wait outside-- (priorty, FTTF -- EVERYONE) thank God I arrived super early so we had a seat
RWolver672 Posted January 13, 2015 #5 Share Posted January 13, 2015 When we cruised out of there in February, 2013, we got to the port around 10:30. They had just opened the doors. We walked up to the door and there was a gentleman sitting by the door. We had to show him our boarding passes which had FTTF on them. He directed us to another door which led us to a separate area to check in. We were given "Priority" cards and told to sit in the regular boarding area. Platinum/Diamond were instructed to wait in the VIP lounge. When they started boarding, they called for wedding parties first, then Platinum/Diamond, then handicapped, then Priority. That was the first time FTTF was offered for that cruise so maybe things have changed since then. There were a few rough spots. Our cards weren't where they were suppose to be and they had to go searching for them. When we boarded the ship, our cards wouldn't "Ding". We were escorted to Guest Services where they issued us new ones.
near the beach Posted January 13, 2015 #6 Share Posted January 13, 2015 Ft. Lauderdale had signs when we sailed from there. To be safe get in the first line you see and send someone ahead to see if there is another line to use.
Beachlover1964 Posted January 14, 2015 #7 Share Posted January 14, 2015 We were just there a couple of weeks ago. Arrived at 11 am. There is one door, just show your boarding pass to the person at the door and you will be directed to a VIP line, which you will follow through x-ray to the check in counter. We were on the ship by 11:20!

We were on the ship by 11:20! We were directed incorrectly by the guy at the door. It was very early though and the line was quite short. The first check pt person saw that we were FTTF. And escorted us over to the correct area for the next person. So, if you start out wrong, they will help you get it straightened out. We LOVED being able to go to our cabin right away. It just made the start of the day so much more relaxing. Have fun!
