Whale Watching in Skagway

We are doing a cruise-tour in May and will be spending 2 nights in Skagway. We do not go to Juneau and am wondering if the whale watching excursions from Skagway are worth the money and time.

There is one outfit which picks up people here in

Skagway and they are going to do wale watching in the Lynn canal from mid May until July and they are promising "whales or no pay"

They are actually a local transportation cat out of Haines which usually does day runs from here to Juneau.

I guess that they have been seeing so many whales during that time frame that they are now offering the run as a whale watch.

Thanks for the info,,DD. The one company I was interested in is not showing excursions on their calendar for the day I wanted. I am waiting for their reply to my email.
