cruising boy Posted January 14, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 14, 2015 Hi, Longtime lurker and first time poster here ... thinking of making the jump from Seabourn to SeaDream and wondering if you can advise me on the beverage selection on board? Is it similar to Seabourn? Champagne? Spirits? (brands?) Sorry if this has been asked previously, I cannot locate that thread. Thanks, CB
vandrefalk Posted January 14, 2015 #2 Share Posted January 14, 2015 (edited) Although I've not sailed Seabourn, I suspect the choices on SD are similar. They do have some liquors that are an upcharge, but not many. I was always happy with the scotch choices (including single malts), although for Glenlivit and Glenfiddich, one is an upcharge and the other isn't (I can never remember which). I think some have complained that certain vodkas are an upcharge as well. They do have champagne (generally Jacquet?) I've always been perfectly happy with the choices, but there are those who will say the wine choices could be better (although the premium list is quite good), so your mileage may vary. Others can give you more detail, I'm sure. Vandrefalk Edited January 14, 2015 by vandrefalk

andreakul Posted January 17, 2015 #6 Share Posted January 17, 2015 Ho-Hum, Can you see if they serve Dalwhinnie Scotch. We are thinking of booking one of the April Seadream II sailings and my husband would be so happy if they have his scotch onboard. Thanks so much, Andreakul

Thanks so much, Andreakul Hi Andreakull, The good news is they have 15 yo Dalwhinnie. The bad news is it cost $10 a pour. Well it is a premium brand and great taste if you dont mind HH saying. cruising boy Posted January 19, 2015 Author #8 Share Posted January 19, 2015 Thanks Ho Hum. Can you advise what the standard champagne served across the yacht is? I assume this is part of the 'included' beverages ...
Marylebone37 Posted January 19, 2015 #9 Share Posted January 19, 2015 They charged for Grey Goose (back early last Summer) - which I found disappointing.
ho-hum Posted January 19, 2015 #10 Share Posted January 19, 2015 Thanks Ho Hum. Can you advise what the standard champagne served across the yacht is? I assume this is part of the 'included' beverages ... The House Champagne is "JACQUART" of Reims. Comprising of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir & Pinot Meunier. It has some extra bottle age above and beyond the usual 3 years and so is drinking very well with no caustic apple notes. It is a low price champagne but currently "punching well above it's weight". Yes it is a free pouring drink but best to ask for champagne as they will proffer a sparkling wine.
kathyanddanny Posted January 19, 2015 #11 Share Posted January 19, 2015 HH, One of my new favorite drink is Calvados! Any on board? More specifically, ( Roger Groult 8 years or better )? My Dad who is a vet, remembers this drink well... 😉

fpebbles Posted January 19, 2015 #13 Share Posted January 19, 2015 kathyanddanny-- There is calvados. I don't recall the brand but I would bet it is "fine" rather than "extra." Happy to be corrected if those on board find out more.
kathyanddanny Posted January 19, 2015 #14 Share Posted January 19, 2015 Fpebbles, Thanks! Great to know! Not super fussy...since I am new to Calvados and only know a couple of brands. I am sure what ever Seadream has will be yummy! 🍸
