Another question for NOLA experts

We are staying at Embassy Suites and wish to walk to the St. Charles Street car then taking this same street car to Washington where we will jump off to head to commander's Palace for our 7pm dinner reservation. Can anyone give me an approximate time frame? The dinner is on a Friday night, will the cars be full and not stopping, thereby we have to wait for several?

If we left embassy by 6pm, would we make our reservations on time?

Thanks in advance...Julie

The streetcar runs every 10 minutes and takes about 15 minutes to go from Julia to Washington. It should not be too crowded at that time.

The walk up Julia to St Charles shouldn't take too long.

Thanks!

Taxis are also cheap if you are worried about making your reservation just pay the cheap fare and get dropped off right at the door of the restaurant. You will be dressed for dinner (jacket for men) so why cheap out on transport for a rather expensive meal at a wonderful restaurant.

Quite true...I guess we will have to see how the day goes...and how tired we are. Was thinking about taking cab home...can you tell me if they drive by the restaurant frequently or would we need to call the cab company?

My son worked as a valet at Commander's several years ago.

They are happy to call a cab for you, and cabs are always available.

I guess I should have assumed there would be valet parking...great info, thanks! Julie
