Has anyone heard of Alltournative Expeditions? I came across them online and their tours look incredible. Their tours combine Mayan life education with water (snorkeling, cenotes, etc.) and adventure stuff (rapelling, zip lining over the jungle, etc.).

I'd love to know if anyone out there has any experience with them.

I did find a couple of comments online and they were very favorable.

When I was staying in the Playa Del Carmen area about 3 years ago, I took the Coba-Pac Chen tour with Alltournative. I HIGHLY recommend it. It was interesting and fun. The groups are small. Our guide spoke excellent English. Everyone was VERY safety concious. My only concern with doing it as a cruise ship passenger would be time. It is an all day tour. So you would have to be careful that they could get you back to the ship on time.

I found out on their site that they offer a half day tour. Looks like that will be the way to go with the time constraints.

Do post your review if you do choose to use Alltournative Expeditions. I see they are offering a new tour, the Mayan Canopy, which looks great. It is a half day tour, to Chikin-Ha. It offers a 3-cenote visit with zip lines connecting the cenotes...that looks fun!
The only part I would NOT like to do on this tour is the bike ride to the cenotes and it states you can ride in their van..
