Card Key Light Control in Stateroom

:rolleyes:Can't believe some folks are making such a big deal out of this -- it's to conserve energy! Hotel sin Europe have been doing this for several years.

I think we all understand the reason for it, but when you are in an interior cabin and your cabin mate takes out the card and leaves the cabin while you are in the bathroom, you will know why some of us use an old gift card and leave it there for the duration of the cruise. There is no light whatsoever in an interior cabin and even if you remember where your own key card is, it is not easy to find it in the pitch black darkness. It is an old habit to switch off lights as we leave a room. We do it all the time at home....and on a cruise ship. :)
