gambling with cash

My daughter and I are cruising on Princess in May, the cruise is going on my credit card, if my daughter wants to gamble in the casino can she gamble with cash? Or does it go on your sail card (which would be my credit card)

I was on the Enchantment last year and the machines would print out tickets that you could cash at the cashiers window.

I think it depends which cruise line you are sailing. I know on Princess it goes on your cruise card. No slips of paper to lose.

We will be on Princess, this is what I was afraid of, it would be tied to my credit card, and her winnings would be deducted from what I will owe at the end of the cruise. I would rather the machine give her a ticket that she could cash in. (Assuming she is winning, that is!)

If she has any winnings, they can be cashed out at the cage at any time. The money is only tied to your CC if she takes money out of it at a slot machine. If she only uses cash, she can take out any winnings. You set up a casino bank with your room card. That cash is not linked to your CC. It sounds complicated but they will explain it to you in the casino. Your casino bank and your CC account can be kept separate.

Her winnings will NOT be deducted from what you owe at the end of your cruise. Any balance in your casino bank MUST be cashed in at the casino cage before it closes the last night of the cruise. They will be making many anouncements in the casino to remind you.

Have fun and win big!

Just to clear this up.. just because it uses the ship card, that does not mean its in your owed ship account card balance. The casino "bank" account and the ship board account are separate things. As long as SHE ONLY uses cash at the machines. You could use the ship card to get money for the machine and THAT would show up as a purchase on your on board account. But any amount left on the machine that she "cashes" out will be transferred to her player's bank which she would then be able to use on another machine or cash out at the casino cage. Note that she must cash out the last night of the cruise as the ship has not visibility into the casino account and will not refund any money left in it without having to email the corporate offices for the casino...

Of course, you would never be able to top my wife's all time line. We were on a cruise celebrating our 40th anniversary. We raised 4 sons so we re were just abit busy all those years and we weren't really used to quiet times to t alk all by ourselves. Plus my hearing isn't the best. So we were standing there on our balcony and Mary Lou felt she would say something. She said "I am so glad I married you. I could have married some other jerk". One word too many. We still laugh about that. And of course, I heard her clearly.
