What's the deal with harvest cay?

We are going to stop at Harvest Cay in Oct of this year.

Is it completed?

Is it like all the other private island stops where there is a beach and more?

Will you be able to buy beverages on your ship card as you can on the others?

Most of the other privates do not have transport to another city with a port.

How is and will it work? I have not heard much about it. Any info will be appreciated. Joe

I am also heading to Harvest Caye shortly after it opens and received the following information from the NCL rep I spoke to the other day.

 

Is it completed? Not Yet.

Harvest Cay is about 50 miles the way the bird flies south of Belize City. There is not much on the mainland near there except for a few fishing villages. Pallencia is probably the biggest with a population of about 1,000.

 

The other info that I have is that the first ship will visit the island on October 13th. If the island is not ready Belize City will be the first alternate. If the ship can not be accommodated there who knows where you will end up. You should start to see excursions up on the website around May.
