Druke I Posted August 27, 2005 #2 Share Posted August 27, 2005 Interesting yes - but nothing too terribly radical.
guernseyguy Posted August 28, 2005 #3 Share Posted August 28, 2005 Did I miss something or was there actually anything 'new' in this - a useful summary of where we are but not a lot of 'news' per se? Peter
bobby1119 Posted January 13, 2006 #4 Share Posted January 13, 2006 I agree, too. I did not get a sense of some of the substantial changes that I had heard about on my last Queen Mary 2 cruise. One change that had been talked about involved the addition of a bar closer to the King's Court. Waiters complained that beverage service for guests in King's Court took so long because the nearest bar service was from the Winter Garden. One night while dining in Lotus, which was almost empty, it took more than twenty minutes to have ocktails served at the table and then another long wait for a bottle of wine with dinner. I am wondering whether these changes have been made? On another note, does anyone know what kind of refurbishment/refit is scheduled for QE2 right after the current world cruise? I was on the ship Monday and found her to be somewhat tired-looking and worn and in need of serious sprucing up. I had not been aboard since a transatlantic in the summer of 2004. As I am retiring next fall, I have booked the 2007 world cruise as a gift to myself, and I hope these issues will be addressed during the refit. Thanks for anything that can be offered!
