davelliott Posted January 30, 2015 Author #26 Share Posted January 30, 2015 MJ, you are welcome. I am glad that you enjoy them. I just wish that I could have posted them sooner. But, since these menus are served on all ships, everybody can see what the food might look like before ordering.

davelliott Posted January 31, 2015 Author #29 Share Posted January 31, 2015 Thanks steamboats, your photos and layout are amazing! I think that I had seen your site before. I recall seeing wonderful photos on a German site, but am not sure if it was yours. You did a great job. On my next cruise, I will have to work on getting my photos of the food to be as good as yours! Maybe I missed it on your site, but when were you on the Oasis? davelliott Posted February 13, 2015 Author #31 Share Posted February 13, 2015 Escargots Good as usual! Mediterranean Spinach Pie I didn't have this, and I can't recall the comment on this dish. Chilled Golden Delicious Apple Soup I really liked this one. Roasted Beet Root Salad I can't recall the comments on this one.
davelliott Posted March 1, 2015 Author #32 Share Posted March 1, 2015 Baked Sea Bass I really liked this dish! Steak Diane This was excellent. Sugar Free Almond Torte This tasted sugar free. Sort of bland, but what can you expect from a sugar-free dessert. Coffee Cream Mousse? I am not sure if this is the correct name for this dish, but it was good. sue999 Posted March 2, 2015 #33 Share Posted March 2, 2015 I loved the pictures. Thankyou. There were 1 or 2 things I was unsure about ordering on my last cruise but they look yummy , I certainly will try them on my next cruise :)

squadron Posted March 20, 2015 #36 Share Posted March 20, 2015 Thanks for the great pics! Makes me more looking forward to my Sept cruise! Wonder where the people who make positively rude and horrid comments about the food eat????
davelliott Posted March 22, 2015 Author #37 Share Posted March 22, 2015 Bread Sticks and Rolls These were dry and bland. We didn't really care for them that much. Sea Scallops and Whitefish Ceviche I am not sure if this is the correct name for this dish, but is my best guess based on looking at the menus. Iced Cucumber Yogurt Bisque My sister ordered this and did not like it. I tasted it and have to agree that is was not to my liking! I love cucumbers, but I think this was horrible. Everybody at the table tried one spoon of it and that was it. Yellow Tail Tuna Sashimi My aunt ordered this and said it was good. I just can't eat undercooked or raw fish. Mexican Shrimp Bowl This looked good and was liked by my BIL. Caribbean Pumpkin Coconut Carrot something. I can't remember the exact name, but this was ok. At least it was better than the cold cucumber soup.
davelliott Posted March 22, 2015 Author #38 Share Posted March 22, 2015 Roasted Baby Beets and Spinach My sister ordered this. I believe that she enjoyed this dish. Crunchy Iceberg Lettuce This appeared to be just a "normal" salad. Warm Poached Egg on Assorted Greens My aunt really enjoyed this and the poached egg was cooked perfectly. Chipotle Spiced Basa Fillet I ordered this and was a bit disappointed. I was expecting a spicy dish and thought it was a little mild and dry. Chipotle Spiced Basa Fillet after opening the corn husk. Peppercorn Seared Bison Tenderloin Both my sister and BIL ordered this. They really liked it. I tried and bite and it was good, but just a little too much pepper taste for me. But I have to inform you that I don't like pepper on anything. I would recommend this to anyone who goes to the Solarium Bistro as it is quite different and unavailable in most restaurants that I have been to. davelliott Posted March 22, 2015 Author #39 Share Posted March 22, 2015 I will start off with my complaints regarding the dessert process in the Solarium Bistro. It was a bit confusing. The waiter explained the process, but due to broken English it was difficult to understand. One sample of each dessert was set up in the buffet table in the center of the room and there was a chef standing in the middle. The waiter described each item, but there were so many it was impossible to remember the names of each one. He informed us that we could either go to the counter and tell the chef behind the counter the name of what we wanted and he would fix one and give it to us. Or, we could return to our table and someone would bring it to us. He then said something about just telling him what we wanted and he would go get it. We thought that option wouldn't appeal to us, since we didn't really know what item belonged to what name. When we went to the counter, the chef told us the names, but did so in such a quick (and broken English) manner that none of the four of us understood him. We each picked one item based on what was sitting in front of us and basically ignored the names, since we couldn't understand them anyway. This was one of the only thing that I recognized by sight. It was good. Strawberry Cheesecake This was easily recognizable and my sister like this item. Some other dessert. I am not sure what it was called. davelliott Posted March 29, 2015 Author #41 Share Posted March 29, 2015 As for my general review of the Solarium Bistro, I decided that I would never return. I just didn't enjoy the food or the experience. Even though we (and most other diners) dressed up for dinner, it still felt like we were eating at the pool. I just didn't enjoy the atmosphere. But then, I really enjoy the experience of the main dining room. This was the first night of any of my cruises that as I got up from dinner, I was still starving. Since we had to book this dinner at an early time compared to our late traditional time, I had decided that I would still go to the MDR for our traditional meal. However, due to show times, I just stopped by the Cafe Promenade and got a couple of little sandwiches.
davelliott Posted April 19, 2015 Author #42 Share Posted April 19, 2015 Breaded Mushrooms These looked really good, but I didn't try them. Papaya Lychee and Water Strawberry Salad I copied this name from my notes, but am not sure if I wrote it down correctly. My favorite - Escargots! Tomato Salad My sister really liked this. It was simple and looked healthy! Pan Seared Tilapia I thought that this was good, but I am a sucker for any seafood. I didn't really like the green beans. I am from the south and I like my "snaps" cooked well done.
