Question about Carnival

Hey everyone! D & I are looking at booking the Triumph for March 14, we can save about $160 by allowing Carnival to assign our cabin, rather than choosing it ourselves. Anyone have good luck going this route? Do they usually pick a good room? Or is it worth it to spend extra $$$? Thanks in advance!

Maybe we're just lucky but we always get a great room.

Only take a guarantee if you would be happy with EVERY cabin in that category and all higher categories.

Only book a guarantee if you can be happy with the worst cabin on the ship--Under the Galley, Under the Lido, above the Disco, connecting etc.

We did one on our last cruise, but only because the savings were pretty substantial. I would not book a guarantee to just save a few bucks. And we ere prepared to accept whatever they gave us. We actually ended up in a great location mid-ship, near the elevators.

I have no problem with a guarantee if it is just DH and myself. If we are taking the kids and I am booking 2 rooms then I look for book specific rooms so we can be by each other.

I had one bad experience and would never do it again. We were on deck 1 about the garbage area and the room STUNK for the whole week.
