Open on Sundays

We will be in Georgetown port for a day and noticed that the tour we wanted does not operate on Sundays...this is not the ships tours which concentrated on snorkelling and diving....because the ship will be in port will we find that shops and tours will be operating ?

Hi Chriswat - just wondered whether anything was open when you were there, as we also dock on a Sunday?

We were there last December on a Sunday and everything (including some restaurants) were closed. Of course, there was also a marathon that day so that may have had something to do with the restaurants in the port area being closed.

We were in Georgetown on a Sunday in April 2015 and except for a couple of restaurants and jewellers, there nothing was open in terms of shops. There was a market on the wharf which was obviously catering to the ship but we weren't interested in their wares. We suggest you leave the ship in the a.m. and go back to the ship for lunch.
