Passport renewal timeframe?

Can those of you who have recently renewed your US passports give me some idea of how long it takes to receive the updated passports. We mailed off our renewal forms/old passports yesterday and I am wondering how long we will have to wait to receive the new ones. Thanks.

Two months ago, mine took five weeks.

Mine took three weeks for renewal.

My husband I both sent our renewals in November, and both of us got the passports back in two weeks.

Our family of 3 has each renewed our passports within the last year and the MOST it took was 6 weeks and that was last summer. :)

I got my renewal this past Monday. The whole thing took just less than three weeks. John

Renewed my daughters' passports in November and December. Only took 2 or 3 weeks.

I just sent both of my daughters first passport requests, and it has been a week. The lady at the Post Office said two to three weeks. I know that the Department of State is doing much better with passport requests, but I'm not holding my breath.

Mailed our passport renewal paperwork on 5 January 2015 and received our new passports today, 28 January 2015.

Thanks to all who responded. That should give enough time in case we decide to book a late March cruise....just batting around the idea even tho it's kind of late.
