pls5286 Posted January 29, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 29, 2015 Hi Everyone! My fiancé and I have decided on doing a cruise on Enchantment in June for our honeymoon. We picked this ship/time because my youngest (11)will be at camp that week, so we can actually get away without kids. I don't have a huge concern about being out of the country with her at camp. It is with our church, a long time friend is leading the group. Her brother, who is 18 will be at home that week with work. Here are the plans: Get married on Saturday, June 20 in Gatlinburg. Leave early Sunday morning for Fla and stay near the port, taking a shuttle to port to avoid paying for parking. My questions 1. Are there fridges in the room? I am diabetic and on insulin and need the fridge. 2. Can just he buy the drink package. Drinking and diabetes do not go well together. I will get the soda package. 3. How "walkable" is the ship. I am recovering from a pretty significant ankle/foot injury and not out of the surgery woods yet and don't really feel like spending my entire honeymoon with braces on both my knee and ankle. I can do short distances fine. Will they accomadate my lack of ability to do steps during the muster drill? 4. How easy is it to get foods that contain no artificial sweeteners? I have a medical condition that I can't use equal, splenda stevia, sweet-n-low etc. 5. Is the medical center adequate? I used Freedom's once and was pleased. Anything I may be missing, please feel free to add!

Havingfun2010 Posted January 29, 2015 #3 Share Posted January 29, 2015 (edited) hi everyone! My fiancé and i have decided on doing a cruise on enchantment in june for our honeymoon. We picked this ship/time because my youngest (11)will be at camp that week, so we can actually get away without kids. I don't have a huge concern about being out of the country with her at camp. Leave early sunday morning for fla and stay near the port, taking a shuttle to port to avoid paying for parking. My questions 1. Are there fridges in the room? I am diabetic and on insulin and need the fridge. Request one from "special needs". They will deliver. Do this prior your cruise. 2. Can just he buy the drink package. Drinking and diabetes do not go well together. I will get the soda package. Each person can get their own drink package. No problem. Yes, if you need assistance, they will put you in a different meeting place. Often times, you just walk to your area, and they will direct you to a new area to go. 4. How easy is it to get foods that contain no artificial sweeteners? I have a medical condition that i can't use equal, splenda stevia, sweet-n-low etc. Good question. My wife never had an issue with regular food. (desserts might be a different story) 5. Is the medical center adequate? I used freedom's once and was pleased. Never used one but it would be my understanding that fleet wide, they are basically the same. Anything i may be missing, please feel free to add! have fun! Edited January 29, 2015 by Havingfun2010
LindaO Posted January 30, 2015 #4 Share Posted January 30, 2015 1. Are there fridges in the room? I am diabetic and on insulin and need the fridge. Make sure you notify special needs. The 'cooler' fridge in the room may not be the proper temperature for your insulin storage, but they do have regular compressor fridges that they will place in your cabin. It is a 2x2 fridge so the space isn't a huge problem. This is the link to the special needs form -- https://secure.royalcaribbean.com/allaboutcruising/guestSpecialNeeds.do 2. Can just he buy the drink package. Drinking and diabetes do not go well together. I will get the soda package. Yes, you can each get your own package... or just one for him and none for you, etc. The ship is very 'walkable'. My mom had walking issues and she loved sailing on the Enchantment. Also, stop by guest services after boarding and they will tell you where to go for the muster. They have an area for those with walking issues, inside, sitting down and you and your new husband will be able to be together and they will assist you. Go a little early, take the elevator, no steps needed. 4. How easy is it to get foods that contain no artificial sweeteners? I have a medical condition that I can't use equal, splenda stevia, sweet-n-low etc.Talk with the wait staff and especially your head waiter and/or dining room manager. In the Windjammer, talk with the dining room manager or chef. If you feel the person you are talking with doesn't understand or isn't giving you good info, ask to speak to the manager. They will be happy to assist you. 5. Is the medical center adequate? I used Freedom's once and was pleased. The medical facilities are more than adequate and the staff and doctors/nurses are very nice and helpful. There are tons of photo packages on board!!! Enjoy your crusie... and best wishes for a joyful wedding and a long happy marriage! Anything I may be missing, please feel free to add!
aftop Posted January 30, 2015 #5 Share Posted January 30, 2015 Call RCCL and they will e mail you a Special Needs form. It's three pages and covers many situations. After completing it there is a Fax number on the form to send it back.

rwilk1129 Posted January 30, 2015 #7 Share Posted January 30, 2015 I also have a question. On 4day Enchantment we stay in port til midnight in Nassau. Does that mean casino will be closed until midnight? Also can we take our own wine to dining room without a corkage fee? Thanks.
