Anyone fly to Ambergris for the day?

Hello all,

 

My wife and I are visiting Belize on a cruise in mid February, and would like to get up to Ambergris/San Pedro via air. The ship sails at 5, so the last tender is probably going to be around 4pm I'd think.

 

Has anyone here done something similar, and how much time did you have to build into the return trip in order to have sufficient time for the tender back to the ship?

we're going to try this in march from the municipal airport. there are flights every hour and its a 20 minute flight. I thought we would take the 3:00 flight back. be in a cab by 330 and plenty of time to make a 4:00 tender. that's the plan anyway.
