sassy0930 Posted January 30, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 30, 2015 Wahoo! Just booked our first Royal Caribbean cruise for May 8 on the Enchantment of the Seas! We love cruising and we are excited to try Royal! Any tips for "converting" to Royal from Carnival? I figure most things will be pretty similar, but what about making reservations for dining? We have MTD, any need to make reservations? Or just show up when we're hungry? Thanks in advance!!
nancronin Posted January 30, 2015 #2 Share Posted January 30, 2015 Welcome to Royal Caribbean!! We always do MTD and we make a reservation for about 7 each night before we board - then if we want to do something different we just change the reservation - There are usually 6 of us so we don't want to have to wait for a larger table to empty if we just walk in. But a lot of people make no reservations and seem to be okay with a short wait.
Andie272 Posted January 30, 2015 #3 Share Posted January 30, 2015 I just booked today also, Grandeur in Oct 2015. So excited. Also my first time on Royal, only sailed Carnival prior. I am very interested in this thread.

We aren't really picky about where we might eat in the room, alone or with others. Maybe that will help keep the wait short if we don't make reservations. Janespup Posted January 31, 2015 #6 Share Posted January 31, 2015 We just booked our first RCC also. Took MTD. Thinking that we will not make reservations in advance as there are only 2 of us. I think we will be seated pretty quickly at a table with space.
