Cruiserkenn Posted January 31, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 31, 2015 Hoping to do a cruise sometime, on the Diamond Princess. The new sushi restaurant sounds great! Do you make reservations, on the Dine Line, for this restaurant? Or do you just go? What beverages are available? Do they have a wine list available? I am of course interested in other thoughts and suggestions. Thanks!
Alessandrina Posted January 31, 2015 #2 Share Posted January 31, 2015 We were on the Diamond Princess in Japan for three cruises last summer. We loved Kai Sushi; great fresh sushi and a lovely atmosphere! We did not have to make any reservations as it was not that busy. Green tea is offered and you may also order any beverages. Miso soup is also included as well as dessert - green tea ice cream with red bean paste. We'd usually spend about $20 USD per person for our sushi/sashimi. Cheers. Astro Flyer Posted January 31, 2015 #4 Share Posted January 31, 2015 Thanks so much! Sounds wonderful! If you haven't viewed the menu, I found a PDF of it on the Princess website: http://www.princess.com/downloads/pdf/Onboard_Experience/KaiSushi_DI_SP_SampleMenu2014.pdf

pppatpc2 Posted February 1, 2015 #6 Share Posted February 1, 2015 We just got off the Diamond Auckland and any time we walked by, Kai Sushi always had availability. You may want to make a reservation if you want to eat at the sushi bar as there are only about 8-10 places. We walked in for lunch and my husband had the set menu and I had some nigiri and was happy to find they will make you your favorite rolls even if they are not on the menu. I thought it was a nice addition, but I think the prices could be a little lower considering all the food on the ship is free. I can see a surcharge, but I think it is a little too high. Great food and service though.
