littlelulu01 Posted February 1, 2015 #26 Share Posted February 1, 2015 I had booked an ok on Jade 14 nt almost a year ago. Have only seen price increases since then. My final pmt is due in a couple days. Saw first price drop yesterday when I did one last check before final pmt. I was able to cancel and rebook as two 7 nt vs one 14 nt. We are 3 in cabin so one 7nt I got ksf and 2nd 7 nt got ks 50%. Lost my double point bonus for booking 9mos ahead and also lost my $30 obc but total cruise cost decreased by about $100 and now we have $400 obc, and UBP! The value of UBP not huge bc only one lite drinker but free soda and na drinks will be fun and the obc will be a hUge benefit for spa. Always makes me feel good to get a deal. I would have been happy with just saving $100.
susanch12345 Posted February 1, 2015 #27 Share Posted February 1, 2015 We have 2 school aged children, so we can only go when school is out. I combed through ncl website and couldn't find any kids free days when school is out. As we know, they doubled the kids rate the day before the sale, so 50% off is no good deal. :(
20YearsBetweenCruises Posted February 1, 2015 #28 Share Posted February 1, 2015 We rebooked out May Epic cruise last month to add on UBP and UDP for our cabin of 4. Paid about $180 more for that change. Yesterday my TA modified to add the KSF and saved us $1000. Very happy and excited about still having the UBP and UDP. We lost out 9 months out extra points is the only downside. Wondering if I should book a 2016 cruise today! Lib0007 Posted February 1, 2015 #29 Share Posted February 1, 2015 Was able to go from Bx gty to a B6 on Epic for same price and got to keep obc and UDP. We sail in 5 weeks. I was pleased and found it worth the 2.5 hour phone call.
DreamingBig1 Posted February 1, 2015 #30 Share Posted February 1, 2015 I have a feeling this won't be the last we see of this particular promotion. Unless NCL loses money on giving away the UBP. Its a promotion obviously to fill cabins, but probably a test to see if they make money doing it. I don't see how they won't lose money on it? NYteacher Posted February 1, 2015 #31 Share Posted February 1, 2015 For this April's spring break on the Breakaway we kept all three promotions but moved up two categories to a Haven courtyard suite. We had a forward facing penthouse before but this is our first time we have had Haven access and I am really excited about being in the Haven itself. We actually had to pay---50 cents! Pikaia Posted February 1, 2015 #32 Share Posted February 1, 2015 Re-booked our Bermuda cruise with an online cruise booking site. We switched to a later (higher-priced) date, and also changed category (SD to SC) for $80pp. I did have to stalk the website for part of the day, as the category I wanted kept switching to a guarantee because of temporary holds on its cabins. (We did not want a GTY because we didn't want to end up in SA.) I thought I'd lost it for good when my hold expired in the middle of placing the deposit, but 4 hours later I successfully snagged my desired cabin. The online cruise booking site also added an additional $500 OBC on top of the $300 we got with Freestyle Choice, and the rate we got from them was also $360 lower than NCL's website rate. Can't complain! Can't wait! :D No such luck with our other reservation. That one was booked with a TA who doesn't work on weekends. The only TA in his office working on Saturday didn't hide his annoyance at being asked to work on another TA's booking. Plus I'm sure he, like everyone else, had trouble getting through to NCL. He didn't call me back, and now the category is sold out. I would have saved at least $300 if I'd re-booked yesterday, but there's no way I'm going to mess with the reservation now that the category is sold out. Oh well, can't win 'em all! But it is making me re-think my booking strategy. In the future I might book directly with NCL and wait until a week or two before final payment date to transfer to a TA (to get travel agency perks). Shanlon42 Posted February 1, 2015 #33 Share Posted February 1, 2015 We moved up our Alaska cruise to May & were able to get an ocean view, UBP & $100 OBC all for $60 LESS than what we were going to pay for just a GTY inside! Plus, this one is a R/T from Seattle so no more having to transfer from Vancouver to SEATAC! Woohoo! Hopefully the price of a balcony will drop some more so we can upgrade once more. :D
Lori3015 Posted February 1, 2015 #34 Share Posted February 1, 2015 When it says Haven and suites receive all three promotions ie. UBP, UDP and onboard credit.....does that include a minisuite??
Pikaia Posted February 1, 2015 #35 Share Posted February 1, 2015 When it says Haven and suites receive all three promotions ie. UBP, UDP and onboard credit.....does that include a minisuite?? Sorry, no. Only cabin categories that start with S or H get all three choices. Mini-suites start with M. NCL's mini-suites are more accurately described as deluxe balconies, and they do not get any suite perks.
aquarianne11 Posted February 1, 2015 #36 Share Posted February 1, 2015 Upgraded our cabin from B9 to M9 Spa Mini suite for our Getaway cruise - Dec 2015. We kept the UDP and still saved $250! Since we booked this cruise 3 weeks ago, we already saved over $700. That will help pay for our airfare to MIA. Very happy with this deal, so we also booked a cruise on the Pearl - Alaska for 2016. I'm really glad they extended the sale so more people can get this deal!
dna529 Posted February 1, 2015 #37 Share Posted February 1, 2015 Very happy with booking a family suite on the Star for $3100 and the Escape balcony for $2500 for 4. We usually book insides but decided to splurge! Sent from my SCH-I535 using Forums mobile app

Bluewake Posted February 1, 2015 #39 Share Posted February 1, 2015 We already had a booking on the Breakaway in a family oceanview for three of us. After over 2 hrs on hold, I got through and learned that the sailing we are on wasn't one of the "3rd-8th persons sail free". Rather, it was "3rd-8th persons sail for 50% off". But, it looks like NCL may have increased the cost for 3rd and 4th passengers before the sale. So, after a 2 hour wait, we got ended up getting $100 off our total cost. Not complaining, any reduction is nice. But, after reading what deals others have gotten, $100 seems kind of small.
gymbomb Posted February 1, 2015 #40 Share Posted February 1, 2015 (edited) We were able to get our first suite thanks to this deal. Sharing a 2 bedroom with my parents, husband, and son. We got passengers 3-5 free, AARP discount, UBP for 2 and soda package for 2 (my son will only be 2 so I told them not to bother trying to get him the extras), UDP for all of us, $300 OBC, and used a future cruise reward for our deposit. All together it was a little less than getting 2 balcony rooms. Heading back to Bermuda June of 2016!! Ours was the only early summer boston to Bermuda cruise with sail free, the following weeks were 50% off. Edit: and I must have called at a good time, because I was only on hold 2-3 minutes Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Edited February 1, 2015 by gymbomb

Nola26 Posted February 2, 2015 #42 Share Posted February 2, 2015 After more than 2 hours on hold I was able to get the deal for our 3rd person free, savings of $350. We are booked in a mid ship balcony on the Getaway at the end of August. :p $25 onboard credit will work perfectly as my nephew's video game fund. :D

Odesitka70 Posted February 2, 2015 #44 Share Posted February 2, 2015 For those of you, who were booked through the cas. Couple of weeks ago I booked the cruise on BA for August 2015. First and second guest were comped and 3rd $1124, plus we got UBP with it. As most of you already know casino department close on weekends, so wasn't able to go trough my host. Didn't want to wait till Monday and loose the deal, so yesterday I waited on the phone for 2 hours just to hear "sorry, there's nothing we can do since you are booked through casino. Call back Monday and see what can be done". Ok so that was yesterday. Didn't get too upset since my cruise was already comped. Today after reading lots of cc post I figure let me try it again. Have nothing to loose. Right. Call back today. Waited on the line for 1 hour and 10 min before someone pick up. Ask the same thing as yesterday and 15 min later with no problem or argument had price for 3 rd guest adjusted to a current rate. Safe $150 and was able to keep UBP. Very happy now! So, what I am trying to get out of this story, don't give up. If it doesn't work the first time, just try again.
Totsiejen14 Posted February 2, 2015 #45 Share Posted February 2, 2015 When it says Haven and suites receive all three promotions ie. UBP, UDP and onboard credit.....does that include a minisuite?? It might be worth a try. We had booked adjoining balcony rooms for this July on the Ba for 4 people. We cancelled our 4th person and upgraded to a mini suite in a better location and were able to get the UDP, UBP and $300 OBC. And saved $500 on the price of 3 people. Took a lot of haggeling but we got a great deal!

Your TA has to be paying for at least two of them unless you are booked for Europe or Hawaii. I wouldn't want to get on the ship to find out I wasn't getting what I thought I was.
