Wehwalt Posted March 18, 2015 #51 Share Posted March 18, 2015 I saw a mention of the 4x4 tour in Tahiti, I took it into the interior. It was fascinating, but it is not what i would choose if you have one and only one, day in Tahiti. Go see what it's famous for, the shore.
Rare Hlitner Posted March 18, 2015 #52 Share Posted March 18, 2015 I did 18 days on the Ocean. Loved it. Biggest difference to me was the showroom - you will gets shows like you see in explorers lounge on bigger ships. Sooo if you will miss the big production shows...you won't like it. As far as the ride goes. They all have stabilizers and I didn't notice any difference. Regarding the production shows, I can see them on another cruise next year, the year after next, 3 years from now, etc. In fact, I can see similar production shows on any larger ship of any cruise line. And most are all the same based on Broadway musicals or Hollywood musicals. Cruise lines keep these shows for up to 5 years, and for frequent cruises (moi) we have seen most of those production show enough to have memorized the scripts (with pre recorded tracks). So, what one thing we love about smaller ships are not having those same old production shows. Hank
jagsfan Posted March 18, 2015 #53 Share Posted March 18, 2015 That is the exact reason why I would book a small ship... lots of sea days. However, everyone is different. Some people want to be entertained constantly or have a wide variety of choices, others are happy to be on a ship with compatible passengers and a few good books. Personally, I've found that people who are easily bored are boring. Good for you, Pam. I love the big ships for what they offer, and the small ships for what they offer. Makes life and cruising more interesting.
