tracyktn Posted February 8, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 8, 2015 We got off the ship early and walked outside of the secure cruise terminal area. Just outside the gate is a man renting golf carts and scooters. I think it was $100 for golf cart that holds up to 4 people. The scooters were $50 each. We did not have a reservation it is just first come first serve, so go early. [/img] In January we got 2 scooters. This was a fun way to see the island. justcruisin317 Posted February 8, 2015 #2 Share Posted February 8, 2015 Thanks for the post and pics, I think you convinced us to rent a golf cart for our March visit. It will be my wife, our two kids, and I.
Jkwoody04 Posted February 11, 2015 #3 Share Posted February 11, 2015 I agree ^ I was on the fence but you looked like you had a blast. Think my family of 8 will rent 2 carts explore then head to jacks shack maybe
VacaGrl45 Posted February 16, 2015 #4 Share Posted February 16, 2015 I thought I had reserved a cart with Nathan, disappointed to find out he did not have our reservation. Was extremely disappointed. We were able to rent a car for less money than the cart, and we got to see all the things we wanted!! It's lots of fun, easy to navigate and very safe. razldazlberi Posted March 3, 2015 #5 Share Posted March 3, 2015 Did you rent a car from Nathan's and how much?
TerReuv Posted March 3, 2015 #6 Share Posted March 3, 2015 I have heard some bad things about Nathan's lately. Not responding to e-mails and not having a rental when reserved. I am looking at Karib Auto Rental for our October trip. They are about the same price and take reservations and have great reviews here.

Last 2 trips we tried to book about 2 months out and were told no carts available. I think a lot of people are using them rather than Nathan now and reserving in advance. Amybud Posted March 18, 2015 #8 Share Posted March 18, 2015 The four of us rented a golf cart at the end of February from Karibu. We got a 4 seater golf cart for $100 for the day ($50 deposit). Our golf cart was waiting for us outside the security gate. We got the golf cart, a map, asked a few questions, and off we went. We had a blast. Probably our best day of our cruise. The people were super friendly on the island. Beautiful place. I was needlessly worried about our safety on a golf cart. We were perfectly safe. You drive on the left side of the road. Traffic was very light and they watch out for tourists. They would gently honk, go around you, and wave. The island is small (only 7.5 miles long and 1.5 miles wide) and there is only one major road so it was super easy to navigate. We toured the entire island on our own visiting Governor's Beach, Osprey Beach, Museum, Lighthouse, a local convenience store, etc. We will definitely do this again the next time we visit Grand Turk and will definitely rent from Karibu. beshears Posted April 2, 2015 #9 Share Posted April 2, 2015 Thanks for the pictures at Grand Turk. We are to be there in less than two weeks. So we can rent a golf cart once we get out of the center part? Someone said they were not happy with Nathans. How am I going to know that I am getting a golf cart from Nathan's? I don't want to have any problems either. So the $50 was that per person, or renting the golf cart for the day? The nice shell picture you had, was that from the graveyard? VacaGrl45 Posted April 14, 2015 #10 Share Posted April 14, 2015 The car rental place was on the inside of the cruise port, cant remember their name. $65 for the car, cheaper than the cart. Took no license or credit card information, purely cash.

We also rented a golf cart from, Junior at Karib Auto Rental (they also have a FB page). Nice guys, easy transaction and we had a great time. After cruising all over the island we went to Jack's Shack for the rest of the day to eat and swim with the dogs. We stayed there to the very end and finally returned the golf cart. They seemed to be a little worried that we were not back and most of the people were boarding but they didn't give us any trouble at all. We actually had plenty of time as we went and played in the water at the beach right next to the pier for another 15-20 min. waiting for the majority of the people to get on board so we wouldn't have to wait in line.
