hpecorari Posted February 9, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 9, 2015 On the board at this moment and the new CAS perks posted on the NCL website is in effect as of February 1. Biggest difference I see is no more breakfast and lunch at Cagney's. I did voice my disappointment that it should have gone into effect April 1. The casino manager said I am not the only golden and VIP on the ship Who have voice their concern and feel the same way. Just an FYI. Rare conandrob240 Posted February 9, 2015 #5 Share Posted February 9, 2015 (edited) I am a newbie to CAS- got a 20% cruise discount so I assume I am the lowest level possible. Do I get amenities since I booked through CAS? If so, what? A spa pass would be awesome! Edited February 9, 2015 by conandrob240
Always Cruising Posted February 9, 2015 #6 Share Posted February 9, 2015 I'm curious about the "spa credit" also - instead of the old 2 day spa visit for 2 people as a Golden CAS member. Thanks for any info...

Do I get amenities since I booked through CAS? If so, what? A spa pass would be awesome! No on the spa pass. My first CAS at sea cruise, I got a casino drink card and then near the end of my cruise the casino host set me up at one of the specialty restaurants for dinner. garycarla Posted February 9, 2015 #10 Share Posted February 9, 2015 Can you post a link to where this is shown? I just went to the CAS website and do not see anything. Actually, I do not think it ever actually said the breakfast/lunch thing before. Help with more details, please. http://www.ncl.com/why-cruise-norwegian/casino-cruise As to the person getting 20% discount, you get very little. See link above. tel2 Posted February 9, 2015 #13 Share Posted February 9, 2015 Hi Everyone Not all ships are on the same page apparently. I just got off the Dawn yesterday (Feb 1 to Feb 8). I cannot answer question about Cagneys since I was in a suite, but on the Dawn, there was NO change on the spa passes for VIP. I got 5 days for 2 people, and they were more than happy to allow me to trade in for 7 days for 1 person (husband hates the spa). No spa "credit" of any kind. I have no idea what this has to do with anything. Thanks for the replies. I didn't really expect to receive anything and was surprised I even got contacted by CAS. The drink card is somewhat useless with the free UBP offering. In reviewing the perks, looks like everyone gets the free speciality dinner ( not just gold)? I am looking forward to seeing what CAS service is all about. Edited February 9, 2015 by conandrob240

Harriet In all due respect, I am ROFLMAO! I do hope you get something, but it would be a cold day in he$$ that you would get a $300 credit. Heck,on three cruises, we never even used the spa perk. Heck,on three cruises, we never even used the spa perk. well it must be snowing in hell freezing over. I am on the Sun at this moment and have been given at $300 spa credit from CAS. I tell CAS what I want up to $300 and they call and make the appointment for me and take care of the charges. They say that you can use this $300 credit toward spa passes however the Sun does not actually have a spa except for a hair facials massages etc. Harriet

hpecorari Posted February 10, 2015 Author #20 Share Posted February 10, 2015 According to the casino host the spa credit for VIP is $300. The spa credit for Golden is $150. This can be used toward spa treatments, massages, etc. etc. and etc. or you may use the credit to purchase spa passes. However the casino host must be notified and do the purchasing for you or contact the spa and let them know you will be using the casino credit for what you're wishing to purchase. When I asked her if this was fleetwide she said yes. She said they got the notice February 1. Those who were cruising February 1 were exempt because the paperwork was previously completed prior to their boarding February 1 when they actually received the notice. Anyone boarding after February 1 the new plan went into effect as they had time to implement it. She said the new rules did not come from the casino it came from the main office. She said as she is sure that I am aware of the recent purchases and the fact that certain management has changed, it came from the new management. However I still do see people going to the bar and getting cigarettes for free. I am guessing the bartenders are not aware of the new rules. garycarla Posted February 10, 2015 #24 Share Posted February 10, 2015 One of the primary reasons we would cruise again on NCL is to take advantage of Cagney/Murano breakfast and lunch. Without that option, NCL may have just saved us thousands of dollars that we would have dumped into their casino. Oh well. Lots of other options. rochelle_s Posted February 10, 2015 #25 Share Posted February 10, 2015 Was speaking with my CAS PCC just yesterday and asked about the rumoured upcoming changes, and I was obviously misinformed as she said there were no changes pending. With what has been reported here and if you are Platinum Latitudes there is very little additional benefit for being either Golden or VIP, other then getting a spa credit and the waiving of convenience fees. Such a shame as it seems the 'changes' are just the removal of some of the perks rather than a real revamping of the program. perhaps there is more to the new program and perhaps harriet or iimmie can shed some light on the matter after their cruises. Here's hoping the benefits are not as watered down as it first appears. Rochelle
