Kon Tike excursion...great fun

we booked the Kon Tiki thru NCL Getaway

we meet the boat at the dock, while the steel band played, we had an interesting tour of the harbor.

We then stopped over a coral reef and the viewing hatches were taken up and the glass lowered into the water, we saw various marine life including a large barracuda

Onto Honeymoon Beach, we docked on the beach, found free lounge chairs and enjoyed the white sand and clean water.

After 90 minutes the horn sounded and we boarded for our return trip, the steel band fired up again and we joined the crew in dancing the Macarena, a conga line and limbo contest...lots of fun

Rum shots were only $2.

We're coming back on the Getaway and taking the KonTiki again

Thanks for your info - we are on the Allure and in St Thomas Apr 15th - there are 12 of us and we are looking for something new to do in St Thomas. It looks like Allure is the last ship in that morning at 10am - some reviews show this excursion starting as late as 3pm and I'm sure we have no control over what time we go out. Sounds like a lot of fun.

We are looking to also do Kon Tiki again. Ironically we sailed the original Kon Tiki for our honeymoon in1985, and coincidentally will be in St.Thomas this year on our exact Anniversay of 30 years. Almost required to do it again. Heard that the rum punch with alcohol is no longer free, which I think will be a good thing as many over indulged as it was proof rum back then and hits with a wallop.

 

I hope they still do a narrative tour as sail around harbor. Also hope the memories of how enjoyable it was is repeated.
