denrusk Posted February 16, 2015 #27 Share Posted February 16, 2015 If they are enhancing the security features does that mean they had issues with them? I have over 700$ worth I'm waiting to use on my upcoming cruises.. You can call or go online to verify your balance. I have a couple and I just purchased FTTF with one and had no issues. naz022292 Posted February 16, 2015 #28 Share Posted February 16, 2015 I purchased $1300 and paid off our April cruise. I had been hoping to buy more to cover costs/excursions on the cruise so I hope they come back. I had noticed people on these boards were asking what happens if they put them on their S&S card but don't use the whole balance. Someone said they could cash out at the casino. I was thinking this may be a problem if people were buying large amounts of them and cashing them out in the casino to get 10% FREE MONEY. Just a thought... MarkAndSandy Posted February 16, 2015 #31 Share Posted February 16, 2015 Which Citi card do you have? I've got their double cash rewards and was looking for carnival gift cards yesterday and none were listed.
ancfun Posted February 17, 2015 #32 Share Posted February 17, 2015 Not sure what the security issue is. I do know that other reward sites use the same e-card rewards though & they are still processing them.

OHIOHAWKSDAD Posted February 17, 2015 #34 Share Posted February 17, 2015 When I purchased three together, the e-cert numbers were close to sequence. In theory, one could type random numbers in and draw from other cards.
lcgvol Posted February 17, 2015 #35 Share Posted February 17, 2015 I was just on the Verizon site checking to see if they had them again. I had already purchased $1800 to pay off our March cruise and saved $180. They did not have them, but did have RCCL. Out of curiosity, I went under cruises and you can use points there also. I did a fake booking and it was using about 6000 points. I couldn't figure out if I was saving any money or not.

The Royal Carib gift cards have been showing as sold out almost as long as the Carnival cards have been gone all together. Neither one of them is available for purchase. I think you do save by booking a cruise directly with them, but I'm not sure if you could get price drops or any of the specific terms. I just wish they would bring the gift cards back!!! Swampbaby Posted February 17, 2015 #37 Share Posted February 17, 2015 Verizon saying their is a glitch in the program for processing the eCertifictes. What was odd is this pst week on the Sunshine I took 2 eCertificates to Guest Services to apply to our account and they said they were having problems with getting them to credit and to try the next day. Next day it worked fine.
elainmir Posted February 17, 2015 #38 Share Posted February 17, 2015 I did check mine and they are all good but it is concerning when they say they pulled them for security concerns...
Mkehlb Posted February 17, 2015 #39 Share Posted February 17, 2015 Got this reply from Verizon to my email about the security concerns re: previously purchased cards Thank you for your email regarding Carnival Gift Cards. There should be no concerns for cards that were already purchased through us. Not the most explicit, but perhaps somewhat reassuring.
cruizinisthebest Posted February 17, 2015 #40 Share Posted February 17, 2015 I just purchased an excursion and made a payment on our cruise using Verizon egift cards purchased months ago. Went right through.
xan51090 Posted February 18, 2015 #41 Share Posted February 18, 2015 The gift cards are back on the Verizon site. They're only in $100 increments and are actual gift cards that have to be mailed. There's also a small shipping charge.
jenne252 Posted February 18, 2015 #42 Share Posted February 18, 2015 The shipping cost is very small. $0.59 per card added
gail811 Posted February 18, 2015 #43 Share Posted February 18, 2015 I used the e certificates through Verizon rewards a few months ago to pay off our cruise. Just went back to get more and see they only offer the gift cards. Does anyone have first hand knowledge as to whether they can be applied to our sail and sign account and used towards anything....even gratuities? cruizinisthebest Posted February 18, 2015 #44 Share Posted February 18, 2015 Yes you can use the gift cards to load against your s&s for anything including gratuities. There's a small shipping charge, but then the description still says ecards.
gail811 Posted February 18, 2015 #45 Share Posted February 18, 2015 I ordered 20 cards and they did charge me $0.59 a card.....still a deal! With 3 cruises booked I hope they keep them as an option on the Verizon rewards!
mistyinca Posted February 18, 2015 #46 Share Posted February 18, 2015 Charging $.59 a card?! Jeez. Sounds like perhaps they didn't like that members found an instant way to save 10% on their cruise. It will be interesting to see how long it takes them to ship these cards.
cruizinisthebest Posted February 18, 2015 #47 Share Posted February 18, 2015 I've got no problem with the . 59 charge to mail them if it quails whatever issues stopped them from being offered for almost a month.
