Havingfun2010 Posted June 15, 2015 #77 Share Posted June 15, 2015 This is our second cruise on Freedom, the first was back in 2009 for our Honeymoon. This is our Anniversary cruise. I have to say this has been very disappointing. The service on board has really gone down since our last trip. I apologize ahead of time. I didn't bring my camera, so I won't be posting any pics. Cabin We got an OV room 2435. The room is nice, location great. But the shower stopped up during the first shower. The air in the room doesn't seem to circulate. I went to guest services and they sent maintenance who checked and it registered 73.5 which iws "within Carnival standards", so they would not do anything to fix it. Kimberly at the desk did graciously give me a fan for my DH who keeps sweating. She told me they are reserved for guets with medical conditions who need them to sleep. Our steward likes to play hide the trash can, so we have been having fun with that one. We are Premium Casino guests and he keeps forgetting to leave our casino drawing tickets and such. We missed the cocktail party and drawing the first night and a few other things. I have to check each day to make sure we got everything. Casino The slots are HORRIBLE!!!! I lost a LOT of money. Can't hit anything! This has been one of the worst gambling trips we have ever been on. You cannot get service while playing. We get free drinks and it doesn't matter if you tip or not. We always tip, and they still don't come around. Waited 30 minutes one time for a soda. Twice we ordered and the same girl came by and asked if we wanted something 15 mins later without bringing a drink. Food We haven't made it to MDR. The buffet is terrible, terrible, terrible! We just ordered room service or pizza. I may loose a few pounds if we dont make it to MDR soon. I am really disappointed in the Freedom. We were really looking forward to this cruise. It was one of our favorite cruises from the past, and now we probably won't be back. Well.. i better get back to some sun. :) Thanks for sharing!!! The buffet food is about the same as at Golden Corral. Can't figure out why people eat there, but they do, and state it's really good, just like so many people have stated that the buffet on Carnival is the best. It's funny, but true. I too had issues with my shower, and after getting my carpet wet, I finally unclogged it myself. Seriously lacking the skills to fix a simple clog, but I chalked it up to Carnival's poor customer service. I ate in the MDR, on a 5 night cruise, and literally, our waiter delivered our food incorrectly on 3 nights. One night, I got my main course and he completely forgot my appetizer. Even when I asked, I did not get it. I watched at lunch one day, an employee pick up dropped utenzils off the floor, and put it back on the pile. I took it, and tossed it on the floor over the counter, and let them know it's dirty......shocking but I made the point with some laughter around me. Sure, all these things people will say were small, and annoying, but will kindly say, they are sooooo sorry but my trip was fabulous!!! Carnival and people who review these boards to make decisions need to know, how far Carnival is away from making a great vacation.
K.T.B. Posted June 15, 2015 #78 Share Posted June 15, 2015 I'm sure it was 100 percent better. But i'll bet the price was also considerably higher. So what if it was higher? Who cares? A cruise can be bad for someone regardless of the price and vice versa. There are times you do get what you paid for.... And to the OP (even though she started this thread in February!), I'm right there with your husband in terms of feeling hot and sweaty, even when it's 72 or 73°. I like it a lot cooler. I always tell my wife that she can put more on because I can't take too much more off! :p
Jana60 Posted June 15, 2015 #79 Share Posted June 15, 2015 So what if it was higher? Who cares? Me, and possibly some of the other thousands and thousands of people who cruise carnival everyday.
