Neighboring Aft decks

The dividers, not the deck :D are openable. However, NCL does not want you doing this, it is designed to be opened for maintenance only. Does this mean you can't do it? Certainly not, you will get many answers from posters who have done it, whether or not they knew of the rule or felt it applied to them. And even then, not sure about aft balconies.

We had aft balconies with family next to us.The first time we saw our steward we asked him to open the divider and he came right back with a tool & opened it! Of course (as was suggested here on CC), we always bring our steward(ess) a small token from home that we give at the start of the cruise. In our case, usually a Red Sox hat & Boston Baked Beans!:D

Stewards can open them while in port. As of a few years ago, the rules were changed to not having them open while underway. Safety issues was the "official" answer. Some report that you can open them yourself. Again, it's a safety issue. You decide. We don't do it.
