JohnLocke2012 Posted February 22, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 22, 2015 Crusing on the Epic tomorrow, and would love some suggestions for parking off site in Miami. I will be leaving my rental car for one week, and will be leaving nothing in the car. If you can't post, a private message would be great. Not looking to spend $20 a day to park Not sure if it is too late, but off site parking in Miami is sketchy at best. Park at the port. Yes, twenty bucks a day sucks, but the reviews of nearly every off site place are horrible. Hours to get in and get a shuttle, bad neighborhoods, stolen deposits, car driven while you are on your trip, just bad bad bad. There are several regulars on here that live in the Miami area and they all agree just suck it up and park at the port, or turn your car in for the week you are gone. JohninDC Posted February 22, 2015 #3 Share Posted February 22, 2015 Why not turn the car in and avoid paying for both the car and parking? Added benefit is that you do not need to worry about the car while you are cruising. ;)
Mirrasi Posted February 22, 2015 #4 Share Posted February 22, 2015 I was looking for the same. On Google maps there is a place nearby. But then when I saw the reviews I changed my mind. It wasn't about things being stolen. A couple of people posted a giant line of cars waiting to get in. They had already prepaid and ended up being hours behind schedule getting on the ship. After that, I just decided I will pay the stupid $20 a day parking.
beachykeen42 Posted February 23, 2015 #5 Share Posted February 23, 2015 I was looking at turning the car in too but it costs a fortune to do it that way due to drop fees. I'm not giving up yet and I'll make a few phone calls to see if I can get those waived if they know I'll be picking it back up after cruise. I just can't see to pay to park a rental car for a week. Sounds like a double waste of money...
