What a ship with no climbing wall?? what is going to become of us all ;)

So we have maybe leave the ship and see real rocks and caves and things OMG? Geo , kalos, Kruzze, Linda , tell me is it true ? …. Will I have to pay to climb a wall whilst on a Thomson Tour ? :)

The Casino will be made smaller, and the rock climbing wall will be removed.

Maybe they will not remove it Stevie .. You know what Thomsons are like:rolleyes:

Maybe turn it upside down and be the fist ship at sea to have potholing at sea, a real hit for those who don't like heights;)

 

Then again if they don't then it will be a sight sat watching Kruzze , Linda and others going to the top of it on a sea day :D

 

P.S

Before you ask I would stay at ground level guarding the tables, drinks etc :D

Interesting. I knew that that facebook ad was a nod to something different happening. Too much of a coincidence that a ship with a similar silhouette to the Splendour is on an ad (despite Thomson ships always appearing on the ads) and a month later the Splendour is announced.

Blimey! Don't give them any ideas stevie and kalos - they could introduce us as the entertainment! I'm sure it would give everyone a good laugh though - except those of us dangling from the funnel in a harness! Now that's not a pretty image! :D

Royal Caribbean has agreed to sell Splendour of the Seas to TUI Cruises, with the final sailing for Royal Caribbean departing on April 4, 2016. TUI Cruises will lease the ship to Thomson Cruises, which will operate the ship under their Island Cruises brand replacing the former Viking Serenade.[3]

 

So it's going under the Island Cruises band? Will be my last Island Escape cruise in June then shame love that ship but will look forward to trying the SOTS!!

You don't provide a source for that quote, but no it isn't. It will be sailing under the Thomson brand.

Google "Splendour of the Seas" - Article "Tui Cruises Acquires Splendour of the Seas". "The 1,830 capacity vessel will replace Island Escape, currently operated by Thomson Cruises’ sister company Island Cruises, so that the overall UK fleet will continue to be comprised of five ships".

That article doesn't say it will be sailing as Island Cruises though. Mainly because it isn't.

yes... i read somewhere that thoms would be incorporating the current escape crew into the rest of the fleet... which i presume will be the dream and celeb (or their replacements?) and on the new thomsons miracle/bliss but not on maj or spirit as they are crewed by louis

 

its looking v likely that island cruises will basically be history

Just called into my main Thomsons TA and they say there will be another announcement on the 15th April and on the 23rd April the itinerary for 2016 will be announced. "Holds Breath"

 

Also they did say the "NEW" name will also be announced on one of those dates! :rolleyes:

Louis is not a great company to work for..

Anyone who has cruised on her before knows this..

When i was young, all the family sailed on the Triton, a very small ship.

it was nice, but is now gone from the fleet

Lynn can reveal, that there will be more exciting news to come about the transfer of this ship from RCCL to Thomson /TUI by mid april

 

More info on the company which will be crewing of the ship, the size of the casino, the additional restaurants, and what is going to happen to the Viking Crown lounge.

 

Its all exciting
