Genoa/Savona?

Please help, we are staying in Genoa before our cruise that leaves out of Savona. What is the fastest and cheapest way to get there? And how far is it really? No one can ever really tell me the distance and or the time it takes to get there. Someone out there must know this information?????????

My understanding is that the distance is about 35 kms. There is a train from Genova to Savona that is inexpensive; alternatively, the taxi ride is approximately 65 -70 Euros. We are traveling in October and have booked a private cab through the hotel we are staying at near Savona.
