riversights Posted March 5, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 5, 2015 After a gala 20th anniversary voyage down the Upper Ohio last summer, we are eager to visit another stretch of river. How about Memphis to St. Louis, or St. Lewis to Cincinnati? Those prices for late June and early July are enticing. If Mark Twain is hungry for another plate of crawdads, what would he book for sure?:D
Calliope Posted March 6, 2015 #2 Share Posted March 6, 2015 Hands down, St. Louis to Cincinnati. The scenery is sooo much better and the cities and sites visited nicer. Mark Twain lived and worked at a print shop in the Queen City, so it would almost be like going home for him.
riversights Posted March 7, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted March 7, 2015 That's what we were looking for, a strong recommendation. The St. Louis to Cincinnati voyage would be a new expedition for this duo, and that's what we like, a stretch of wide river we have never seen before, never drifted, never contemplated. We can "get lost" and that's the way time stops for us.:)
