Has NCL and AAA buried the hatchet?

We used to get reports of AAA bad mouthing NCL(go somewhere else). I haven't seen any recently and the current issue of the local AAA magazine prominently mentions NCL and NCL is sponsoring a local get together too. so maybe they buried the hatchet which means that NCL and AAA have come to some accommodation.

I booked my first cruise through AAA back in 2011 and had no prior knowledge of any cruise ships. The TA seemed happy to set me up with NCL. I did not know there have been any issues.

Until recent years, a few TAs told me to stay away from NCL. They have greatly improved their product.

Since I'm a AAA member, I visited a branch over Christmas to see if it would help to transfer my booking over to them. The agent was not interested at all, said she would be no help, and W AS does not work with NCL. After that, I found a great TA who does.

My understanding from reading on there was that AAA was a network of clubs. So some regions deal with NCL where others won't.

Well, the Southern New England branches don't seem to have a problem booking.

I believe it was a matter of NCL not participating in AAA's Prefered Supplier program. Preferred Suppliers provide bonus/extended commisions.
