Lei Greetings at the Honolulu Airport

When we arrived in HI, our limo driver was waiting for us at baggage claim and presented floral leis to each of the women. I had made arrangements for this when booking our transfer. On prior trips to HI - nothing. There are shops at the airport where you can purchase leis, but after a 12 + hour flight, I was too punchy to recall.

All of us received leis when we checked into the Hyatt and at the PCC.

On Waikiki, I stopped in to an ABC store and picked up a couple of leis - [fabric] something to wear around the islands and look like a tourist ;)

Same here. We received a lei greeting but only because it was part of the flight/hotel package that my mom-in-law booked for the trip. If you're going on the Pride of America, you'll get a lei before check-in. At least we did last year. Don't know if they still do that.

There will only be a lei greeting if you are booked on a package tour and it specifically states a lei greeting is included.

Otherwise, just google "lei greeting in Honolulu airport". You will get lots of choices. I did just that for our trip to the Big Island. I paid $50 for our leis, and 5 minutes after having our photo taken, and picking up our rental car, everyone but me had removed their leis. They really aren't very comfortable to wear all the time in the heat and humidity you can encounter.

I put them in plastic bags and put them in the refrigerator. I wore all four of them home on the airplane and dried them once home, so I still have all four. Others just weren't as interested in wearing or keeping flowers.
