BigJH Posted March 22, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 22, 2015 (edited) Hi, does anyone know whether Princess run a shuttle bus at Brugge / Zebrugge, and if so, where does it drop off - port gates, Blankenberge or somewhere else. The Brugge on your own excursion seems very expensive for essentially a lift into the city centre, especially when there are for of you!!! paul929207 Posted March 22, 2015 #2 Share Posted March 22, 2015 It is a pretty safe bet that if they offer Brugge on Your Own for a high price, they will not be offering a shuttle to the same place for a much lower price.
Barnum42 Posted March 22, 2015 #3 Share Posted March 22, 2015 We were in Zebrugge in October and walked to the Zeebrugge Dorp station in Zebuggre and took a train from there. Thing is, the station is only open at certain times and days. When it's closed there is a Zeebrugge Strand station a little further away. Check the Belgian Rail website to see which is open when you are in town: http://www.belgianrail.be/en/Default.aspx We could not get the ticket machine to work, but the guard on the train was very helpful and you could pay on the train with your credit card. I've copied and pasted the following from my post in another thread from October: The Dorp station is a 20 minute walk from the ship. It's not too difficult, but not exactly pretty. Here's a link to the path in Google Maps: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/dir/51...6515!3e2?hl=en You turn right out of the port exit and keep going straight. There's a few points where you can cross to the other side of the street as you'll want to be that side when you get to the turning where the station is. Once you cross a bridge you'll see a tower on your right, it's the next left that will lead you to the station. Note: The station building is no longer anything to do with the train company. There is a ticket machine on the platform, but it refused to take any of our cards. However, you can buy tickets using plastic on the train from the conductor. It's a simple route that starts in Dorp station and ends in the centre of Brugges, about four or five stops in total. At time of writing tickets were six Euros return. The shuttle goes to the train station at Blankenberg.Trains waste a lot of time in my opinion. I would suggest you get a group of 8 from your roll call to share a maxi taxi. Book in advance (we used Rony's Taxis)and it will cost 25 euro per couple return. The taxi drops/pick up are in the main square of Brugge. Enjoy your day in Brugge.
