Pligo Posted March 22, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 22, 2015 New passport checks on those leaving the UK for the Easter getaway are predicted to cause chaos for passengers using the ferries and Eurotunnel. Does anyone know how cruise passengers might be affected, at UK departure port, or at European ports of call? We've all had to give our passport details at booking, like for air travel, so embarkation should be easy, shouldn't it?
newbieafloat Posted March 22, 2015 #2 Share Posted March 22, 2015 It seems the fears are mainly for those travelling overseas in cars and coaches, where individual vehicles may not be processed quickly enough to avoid congestion on the feeder routes. This shouldn't translate to cruises from what I can tell as foot traffic won't have the same complications
jeanlyon Posted March 23, 2015 #3 Share Posted March 23, 2015 You have always had to show your passport on checkin for the cruise. Can't see the difference myself.
