Decks on the Triumph...

I will be cruising on the Triumph with a 12yr old. I would prefer midship but they have a room on the lido deck..forward. I thought the lido deck might be good for my son..easy to find the pools...easier to remember where our room is. Just wondering if there is that big if difference between forward ship and midship? Is there a deck you think would be better with a 12 yr old?

Thank you

We love the Lido deck for that very reason. Our next Triumph cruise we have booked Lido forward. I think you'll be happy with it.

We have stayed midship and aft on Riviera and main decks with our kids. We decorate the doors to make them easy to find for us and the kids. The big kids never have an issue finding the rooms. We have never stayed any higher than main deck and the kids have never had issues finding the rooms. My daughter and I are staying all the way aft on the triumph for our thanksgiving cruise this year.

Decorating the door is a great idea. What are you allowed to use to decorate..like tape or poster stickies??

We were in rooms 1065 and 1067; awesome location. You go right out the doors to an area you can lay out and the exit for the slide pool. One deck down and you have the Red Frog, Guys, Blue Iguana.

The last 2 cruises we have decorated the doors to our cabins. This most recent cruise (Jan 2015 - 3 cabins) it was a poster board that we put a cheap fleur de lis on one door, a jokers mask on one and a crown or something on the other one. We got the poster board and decorations cheap at the dollar store. we hung a pen on each poster board. By the end of the cruise, we would have to police the things people would write on the poster boards. Hubby says we arent doing that (providing a pen for notes/messages) again.

Last years cruise we did 2 cabins and decorated one door with a door wrap and the other door with just mardi gras decorations and such from the dollar store again. We use the blue ticky tac stuff to hold it on the door. It works well and is re usable. I have also used the command strips. They work well too. We have put beads, mardi gras coins and mardi gras masks on our doors in the past.

Since our upcoming Triumph cruise is just my daughter and I, I will let her pick out the decorations and decorate the door. Should be fun!

Just got off Triumph last week. Lido deck is mainly forward. All the pools and din g are midship and aft on lido. Great level. Don't have to catch elevators or stairs for pools. buffet, and other dinning.

If you are worried about motion sickness, go mid-ship Empress deck. Empress is a great centrally located deck and very little motion felt on that level. Couple floors up you are on lido, couple floors down and you have Casino/dining, etc.

Still haven't booked yet..spending soo much makes me nervous. Still thinking lido(forward) deck but worried about motion. We could go to Verandah midship..so..better location or less movement?? LOL

Lido deck isn't an option for 3 :(. Sooo bummed. Our options are empress or panorama. Obviously main deck and others are an option but these are my picks. Sorry to keep asking..just not sure which one is located better. My 12 year old will likely be at the pools and the circle c club.

Empress is centrally located and best for the motion you are concerned about....Panorama is nice for it's location (pools/kids club/Guys/Blue Iguana). We stayed in 1065 and 1067 last time and that was a wonderful location, one of my favorites ever as we walked right out of our cabin practically and were on deck. There are deck chairs right there by the slide and it was so nice to be able to run to our room to go to the bathroom. We didn't find the cabin to be noisy.
