Travels with Lisa Posted March 26, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 26, 2015 I was wondering if anyone knows where in the Caribbean you can buy Tortuga rum (not cakes) beside Nassau and Grand Cayman. Do any of the ships sell it? I will be on the Eclipse thanks!

drew sailbum Posted March 27, 2015 #3 Share Posted March 27, 2015 Per the Tortuga Rum Company's FAQ page: Where can I find Tortuga Rums? Currently Tortuga Rum can be found in Grand Cayman and Tortuga stores in Jamaica and the Bahamas. We are working to reestablish distribution in the United States. Specific addresses might be at that link. That would make it: At the corner of Bay Street and Frederick Street in Nassau, Bahamas - quite close to the cruise terminal.... and Dr Aston King Highway, south of Montego Bay, Jamaica - not so close to the cruise terminal. Perhaps posters in the port of call threads for those ports can verify?

Rare crewsweeper Posted March 27, 2015 #5 Share Posted March 27, 2015 and I've seen them on several islands. tortuga rum is made by Appleton of Jamaica. Cakes are all over and in the US (they import through Miami). But I believe the rum is made in GC. They may contract out to local rum distilleries in Jamaica and Bahamas for the rum used to make the cakes there. But Tortuga is owned by Tortuga International which is partially owned by Jamaica Producers Group, a food distributor in Jamaica not a part of Appleton Estates that makes Appleton Rum.
