Earliest time to book return flight @ Orlando

Grandma x3,

Will you have a rental car waiting or do you need to get a taxi to get it, or are the rental people picking you up at the port? That will make a difference.

Either way you should be able to make 11:50 with no problem. It takes about an hour to get from the port to OIA. Unless you hit bad traffic and early morning on a saturday that is not likely to happen. They want you off the ship early, so they can get it ready to go for the next guests. I think 9 is the latest you can leave the ship. We usually get off around 8:15. When your waiting to get off the do stop the line every few minutes so it doesnt get too crowded getting your luggage. But you only wait about 5 to 10 minutes and they let another 200 people off. It is a smooth process, so dont be upset if it seems there is a long line to get off. They will move quickly every 5 to 10 minutes. We have cruised with people who have had earlier flights than yours an dstill made it ok. Your only problem may be at the airport itself due to everyone traveling for Christmas. Most airlines at OIA do have the express check in computers to use. Those lines move very fast if your eligible to use it. Then the security lines can be long, but they do have several lines moving all at once during the holidays.

You must be on the same cruise as us. We are going 12/17 and getting back on the 24th too. But we are lucky we live an hour from the port, so we dont have to worry about making a flight, and our company is staying a few days so they wont have to fly out either.

Wish you the best of luck, but you should make it ok, just OIA lines may be long.
