UBP - Is it worth it?

When thinking about the UBP you also have to consider the number of sea days vs port days. Obviously the more port days the more time off the ship. My wife and I had the UBP on Getaway as a promo in January. Out of curiosity we kept all the receipts and we had a total bill of about $500.

It was worth it for us. We bought it on our Jewel cruise in 2013. I was skeptical about the price so I kept the receipts from "most" of our drinks. The ones that made it back with us tallied up to over $950 all week. I never thought we would drink $1000 worth of alcohol, but a mimosa here, Bloody Mary there, beer or two by the pool, 2 glasses of wine a dinner then maybe another 2-3 (there was one night where it was 5-6) at the night club and it adds up. It was convenient for us, we didn't have to worry about IF we should try a drink, we just did. But it was also a good buy. We would buy it again.
